1. Learn to download your worksheets. (Both .docx and .pdf files can be opened in Microsoft Word) Canvas does not work well with Google Docs, so I will not be using them for class.
2. Rename your files with your actual name in the file name. Example "Cornwell.How.to.use.the.router.docx. It makes the grading and feedback process much easier if you have your name in the file. Make sure your name is inside the file on the worksheet as well.

3. Turn off autosave, and manually save yourself!
4. Learn to answer in a different font, color or italicize! When you turn in a worksheet on paper, your handwriting is naturally different than the printed font. When turning in worksheet digitally, change the font so it is clear to see your answer! Do not turn in a document file with only answers.
5.Do not change the format of a worksheet. Or erase questions.
6. Use universal file extensions to turn in your work! Make sure you are turning in files that can be seen universally across MAC, PC, or Phone. These extensions are .jpeg/.jpg, .gif, or .png for photos. .docx, .doc, or .pdf for paper files.
If you turn in work in a .heic file (a "live" photo from an iPhone), or a .jfif, my older teacher computer cannot view your work and I am unable to grade your work.

7. If you have a smart phone, download Genius Scan to convert drawings and hand-written documents into .pdf. You can email these documents to yourself or upload them to your Google Drive.
You are going to have to draw several plans for my class. Learn how to process them digitally so they are clear to read. If you do not have access to a smartphone, learn to take quality photos and load them into MS Word.
8. Learn to use the Snipping Tool! Work smarter, not harder. Instead of making sloppy annotations, snip the correct answers and paste it in the worksheet.

9. The Calendar function will tell you the due dates to ALL your assignments from ALL your classes.
10. The Grades tab will show you what school work you are missing. If it is listed as a 0 F or a blank grade with a missing symbol, you need to turn in that assignment ASAP! Turn in missing work by loading any files to the comment section of the missing assignment you are trying to turn in late.
11. The people tab- If you happen to being a group project, the people tab lists the people in your class so you can message them during the time you are working from home. If you have a profile photo, this makes it much easier to learn everyone's name in class.
12. Confirm your work has been submitted on Canvas- You can re-click on each assignment and Canvas will show a timestamp of when your assignment was submitted. It also will show a green check-mark.
13. Keep a copy of your completed work! If you do happen to have submission issues, make sure you saved a copy of your work so you do not have to resubmit.
