Character Counts
"No one will care what you know until they know how much you care" - Teddy Roosevelt.
One of my favorite books is Coach Wooden's Pyramid of Success.
Jack Canfield notes in his book, that successful people meet the goals they write down. Super successful people have a list of over 100 lifetime goals. At the beginning of each class, I require my students to list 10 bucket list goals for their lives. I encourage you to do so as well. We simply do not meet goals unless we write them down!
I also suggest students make a vision board, or in this case, a collage of their future plans. This process is described in Terri Seville Foy's book.
Every person remembers the nicest things ever said to them. John Maxwell describes how words stick with us for a lifetime. In his book, some of his students kept the kind words in their wallets years after they completed a compliments lesson in grade school. I'm trying to do a similar lesson each year and would like to encourage you to do that.
