Instructions 1. Log into Google using your school e-mail address. 2. Pick ONE grand challenge you would like to investigate.
You will be giving a 5 minute presentation on how you would provide a solution to solve one of the 14 grand challenges OR a 5-minute presentation on the creation of a tool prototype you designed to help solve ONE of the 14 grand challenges.
3. Create a Google Slides Presentation with 5+ slides. (go to Google Drive, and click New Google Slides. It is a yellow icon)
4. You must use at least 5 pictures! Citations and captions are required as well. (Google.com is not a correct citation. Give the direct web link to the picture. Example: https://www.wikihow.com/Cite-Images-in-PowerPoint) You may use your own sketches, Microsoft Paint drawings, Google SketchUp renderings or Google SketchUp Drawings in your presentation.
Grading Rubric Presentation = 350 points -Google Presentation with 5+ slides_________/100 points (20 points per slide) -Presenting a topic that could solve or help solve one of the grand challenges _______/100 points -Saving and using 5 photos off the internet with correct citations _______/100 points (10 points each photo, 10 points each citation) -Caption for each photo ___________/50 points (10 points per caption) Total ________________/350 points
Solution Design or Prototype = 500 points -Printed design showing three views (top, front and right side) with accurate measurements _________/300 points OR -Create a scale prototype of a tool that could be used to solve a grand challenge_________/300 points AND -200 word explanation of your design/prototype with at least 3 references. Explain how everything works and what references you used to help you with your design or construction. Remember to explain who, what, where, why and when in the explanation. (one point per word) _______/200 points
