Make your own Ruler
Instructions: you are going to make a wooden ruler that has English Measurement (inches) on one side and centimeters on the other.
Grading Rubric:(400 points)
________/100 points - Wooden Blank 12.5 inches long, 1/4 inch thick and at least 1.5 inches wide. The zero measurement is not directly on the end of the wood. The zero measurement is inset slightly.
________/100 points - English measurement is neatly and clearly marked on ruler to the nearest 1/8th of an inch. Your Imperial markings should be different lengths (ex. The 1/2" mark is longer than the 1/4" mark)
________/100 points - Metric measurement is neatly and clearly marked on the ruler using centimeters. Use millimeters in between the centimeter marks.
________/100 points - Craftsmanship, neatness and accuracy of measurements. Your markings are done in a permanent ink, not pencil. Does it look like a ruler you would purchase in a store? More importantly, does it measure correctly?
