Mobile Hospital Design

As you are aware, the COVID-19 virus has drastically changed the world as we know it. The United States Health System was designed for the majority of its citizens to be healthy. In the midst of a pandemic, we as a nation are rushing to find room for sick patients. Abandoned buildings have been converted into makeshift hospitals, as well as hotels, tents and the use of Navy Hospital Ships. There has to be a better and more efficient way to create hospital areas for sick patients, so that existing hospitals can be wellness hospitals (safe places for child birth and other medical needs other than COVID-19) in a time of crisis.

Instructions:
Design a mobile hospital system that can be constructed in times of pandemic or war. Your hospital has to be modular if it is on land (meaning you are making sections that can be assembled in less than a day).

Constraints:
1. If the hospital is delivered by land, the modular parts must fit in or on an 18-wheel truck. If your mobile hospital is on a boat, it must be small enough to fit into port.

2. All resources to construct the hospital must be re-purposed from some other part of society. For example, abandoned buildings and hotels have been turned into sick hospitals.

Drawing:
Create a drawing with measurements on the size of your proposed plan. If you have a computer, use Google SketchUp. If you do not, use pencil, paper, and a ruler.

Description:
Explain how your design will work in about a page of writing. Describe why you made things the way you did. What makes your hospital unique? Include a rough budget of how much you think your hospital would cost to build.
