TRIP PLANNING 

No partners. This is an individual assignment. Turn in all parts to Google Classroom.

  1. Decide Where You are Going- You must select a destination inside the state of Virginia, and why you are going on this trip. Which class would sponsor this trip? (i.e. you are going to the D-Day Memorial to learn about WWII for History Class)
  2. Budget and Transportation Costs- You cannot use a school bus. Show your calculations on how much transportation will cost for each student. Include a weblink explaining transportation costs.
  3. Directions- provide a typed list of directions on how to get to your destination.
  4. Food- Where are you going to eat and how much will it cost? Does it have alternative food options for people that have food allergies?
  5. Plan Your Schedule- The maximum length of the field trip is two nights and three days. Minimum length of the field trip is 8 hours and 2 meals. Account for every minute of the field trip.
  6. Supervision- How many chaperones and teachers must go?
  7. Create a Permission Form- create the permission form that parents/guardians must sign before a student can attend this trip.
  8. Tie in Your Field Trip to Your Curriculum - provide an SOL (http://www.doe.virginia.gov/testing/sol/standards_docs/index.shtml) or CTE competency (.http://www.cteresource.org/verso/) that shows that learning will occur on this field trip.   
Rubric
___________/200 - Paper- 200+ words describing where you are going and why. Include who will be your chaperones, and which SOL/Competency relates to your current class.
___________/200 - Budget- You will provide calculations showing how much everything will cost. (Food, transportation, admission, etc.)
___________/ 100 - Schedule- Provide a detailed schedule of every minute of your trip including travel time, and how much time you will be at each attraction.
__________/ 100 - Permission Form - Attach a copy of your form to the bottom of your paper.
